Once again, a scandal has arisen around Uber. Rentacars.kz we tried to sort out the conflict. The fact is that the Uber branch in Singapore rented out Honda Vezel cars, which the automaker had previously recognized as life-threatening due to the increased risk of fire. This model was withdrawn from production by Honda.
The company's employees knew that this model had been withdrawn from the market, as evidenced by the internal correspondence of Uber employees. This information did not stop the company from renting out dangerous cars. In addition, there were manipulations with the purchase of cars from dubious non-official dealers. Uber's chief executive Officer for the Asia-Pacific region, Michael Brown, knew about the situation and appealed to colleagues in Singapore with recommendations not to rent low-quality cars. They answered Michael Brown with dubious arguments:
- Canceling the delivery of a car will cause panic
-
The company will incur losses
-
The risk itself was recognized as insignificant
The whole situation is very similar to the corruption scheme at Uber, but it is quite difficult to assert anything without proper evidence.
